Edna

DJ and producer based in Marseille, edna tries to make her many other facets and projects resonate in the same movement: researcher in art conservation chemistry, practicing kinky, mountain girl, clown…

After many years spent alternately getting closer to and distancing herself from mix and electronic music, it was an encounter with the queer/TPG techno scene in the south of France that convinced her to return to DJing and production in 2021 under the name edna.

As a trans woman, her experience of the pre-transition scene is marked by misunderstanding and discomfort with her body. Today, she carves a creature drifting away from the notion of humanity on stage. She is often accompanied by Chilean performer and drag queen Selva Gonzalez, and intends to continue these collaborations between DJs and performers.

Like her career, her influences and productions are eclectic. Her DJ sets often break free of the boundaries between styles, their only compass being an insatiable appetite for deviant rhythms and dark yet ecstatic textures. She chooses a direction rather than a current, and imposes a dynamic, sensual atmosphere that transcends melancholy and suffering, opening portals to other dimensions. On the road, we talk about  kink, stasis, ecstasy and adelphity.
